The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) was established under the University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya Act (No. 6 of 2008), enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya. Promoted by the Education Research & Development Foundation (ERDF), the University commenced its academic programmes in 2011.
Situated at Techno City, Ki Kynmaw, Ri Bhoi District, Meghalaya, USTM is strategically located near Guwahati — making it accessible to students across the North-East and beyond. The University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956.
